The methods of using snowmelt mainly include dry spreading and wet spreading. The specific methods of use can be adjusted according to the amount of snowfall and temperature.
Dry spreading method: Spread the snowmelt evenly on the places where ice and snow need to be cleared. For areas with snowfall below 50 mm, the reference amount is 30-50 grams per square meter; when the snowfall is heavy or the temperature is too low, the amount needs to be increased.
Wet spreading method: Dissolve the snowmelt in water and spray it. The reference concentration is 18% and the spraying amount is 0.4 liters per square meter. When the snowfall is heavy or the temperature is too low, the concentration or the number of sprays can be appropriately increased.
The timing of using snowmelt is also very important. The best time is to spread it evenly before snowfall, so as to prevent the snow from freezing on the ground and being difficult to remove. If it has already snowed, it can be spread 1-2 hours before the road surface freezes to reduce the formation of ice.
Pay attention to environmental protection when using snowmelt. De-icing agents may harm soil and plants, so they should be used away from plants and water sources. Choosing environmentally friendly de-icing agents may be more expensive, but they can reduce the impact on the environment.
